Authentic jazz love songs Wayne Powers – IF LOVE WERE ALL: This is my first introduction to the fantastic jazz vocal talents Wayne serves up for lovers ’round the globe… it’s been 25 years since his last recording, but he’s back with some of the most personal, intimate and joyful vocal work you’ll ever hear… the album won’t go “hot” until August, 2018, so it will be a bit before you can listen to his splendid performance on songs like the classic “All Of Me”… of course, he has excellent players supporting his talent – Ziad Rabie, Tenor Sax, Keith Davis, Piano, Ron Brendle, Acoustic Bass and Al Sergel, Drums… this is (without question) one of the hippest interpretations of Gerald Marks’s tune I’ve ever heard.

You can get a little preview of Wayne’s high-end vocal work on the trailer for the new album, too actually, I’d like to see a trailer that is just a tad longer, but this is all I saw on YouTube…

Keith’s piano intro on Wayne’s performance for Billy Strayhorn’s “Lush Life” meshes just perfectly with the laid-back vocal Wayne offers up for jazz fans ’round the world… this is one of the most engaging jazz vocals I’ve heard (yet) in 2018.

Since I’m a sucker for any tune that leans towards the blues side of jazz, it was easy to choose “Willow Weep for Me” as my personal favorite of the fourteen songs Wayne offers up for your aural enjoyment… the recording quality is top-shelf, no doubt about it!
