This is a brand new project put together by Denis King and Sarah Eyden.

The album has a feel of laid back sophistication , original songs, extraordinary musicianship, and the finest rhythm section in the UK. Dave Olney (Bass) and Mike Smith (Drums) and the composer himself at the piano.

Denis’ career encompasses almost every aspect of show business. A former member of Britain’s first boy band The King Brothers, he went on to write the iconic television theme Black Beauty, over 25 stage musicals in the UK including Privates On Parade, collaborated with legends such as Alan Ayckbourn, Sammy Cahn and Don Black, and performed with everyone from Jimi Hendrix to Nina Simone, from Dame Edna to Frank Sinatra. He is the author of Key Changes – A Musical Memoir.

Sarah is a well-known concert and recording artist based in the UK who has sung on over 200 Hollywood movie soundtracks. A former member of The Swingle Singers, her debut Proms performance was in 2016 at The Royal Albert Hall with The BBC Concert Orchestra, and she has worked with Orchestras worldwide.

Combining their professional experiences, they have created a new feel and sound for these timeless songs of Denis King. Arranging some unheard gems and re working some more well known themes written for TV. Classy arrangements here with some wonderful playing by the talented rhythm section, Mike Smith on Drums and Dave Olney on Bass. With Denis at the piano and Sarah providing the vocals, this album is the first of many ventures into the bottom drawer of the library of Denis King. Expect a musical experience that has a live feel, it was recorded in one room, each player listening to the other and sympathetically working together to make each song come alive. Back to basics. Great tunes, great singer, and exceptional players. Enjoy.
