Ray and the Tambourine
Mattias Windemo became one of the youngest students ever to attend the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm at age seventeen. Since then, Windemo has become one of Sweden’s most renowned guitarists, and has made a name for himself not only in the jazz world, but in variety of musical contexts.
Windemo has made several cd:s on his own and collaborated with artists like Raymond Strid, Jon Fält, Joakim Milder, Karin Krogh and many others.
In his soloconserts he blend his doubleneck tapguitar with the Chapmanstick and acoustic guitar and mix his own compositions with free improvisations in a unique way of playing the guitar.
His intrepidity and pursuit of musical honesty has put Mattias Windemo in a league of his own. He’s a musician of many dimensions and his means of expression are explorative and unique. Unlike anything you’ve ever heard, Windemo dares to fly and takes you with him on a swooping journey through unusual and exciting musical terrains.
